My name is Colleen, and I received my Bachelor’s degree in Child Development with a Minor in Child Psychology in 2015 from California State University Chico. I have been working with children for just about as long as I can remember. I grew up babysitting in the neighborhood, worked at the local Junior Gym, and then became a preschool teacher in 2015. I was a Tiger teacher for about 3 years, then stepped into the role of the curriculum coordinator at the EEC, and then got promoted to the Assistant Director here! I was born and raised in San Mateo and currently I reside in Daly City with my family. When I am not working, I enjoy reading, going to concerts, and cheering on all of the Bay Area sports teams! I have always been so interested in how children view the world, and how I can help make the world a more accepting and loving place. I am an advocate for children learning through play and my favorite thing about working at the EEC is watching children blossom and step into their own by discovering the world around them.
“Education begins the moment we see children as innately wise and capable beings. Only then we can play along in their world.”
