How big is the HRD pool?
- The HRD pool accommodates six 25-yard lap lanes and a diving well; it is not an Olypmic-sized pool.
What amenities does the HRD pool have?
- A slide that runs from the deck into the pool.
- A one-foot baby pool located in a sparate space from the main pool.
- Two 15-foot rock climbing walls located in the diving well; the climbing wall is available during Recreation Swim hours.
- Men's and Women's locker rooms/changing areas.
- ADA accessible chair lift
How deep is the HRD pool?
- The shallow end of the HRD pool is 3-feet deep, extending to 4-feet and 5.5-feet.
- Our diving well ranges from 8-feet to 10-feet deep.
What is the pool temperature?
- The HRD pool is typically around 83-84 degrees, depending on outdoor temperatures.
- The HRD pool is no longer domed in the winter, it is a year-round outdoor pool.
What are the pool hours?

Do I need to pay the entrance fee if I am not swimming?
- Swimmers and Non-Swimmers 3 years and older are required to pay the entrance fee for the pool area.
How do I know what level swim lesson is best for my child?
- Please visit our Swim Lessons page for more information on group lesson levels.
- You may also call the Aquatics Supervisor at (650) 341-4251 for assistance in choosing the right level for your child.
How do private swim lessons work?
- Private Swim Lessons are offered during fixed times on weekday afternoons and weekend mornings.
- Private Lessons are available to all swim levels (1-5); find a session date and time that works for you by clicking here.
- Sessions will range between 4-6 lessons.
How do I try out for the Highlands Dolphins Swim Club?
