This month we have a special employee spotlight as we shine the light on Amanda Armstrong. Amanda has been working with Highlands Rec for almost 11 years! She has been an asset to the Rec in the many roles she filled over this period. In 2011, she started as an intern before moving into a Recreation Leader and Middle School Head Teacher in the After School Program. Next, she became a preschool teacher with the Toucans in the Social Room. Amanda was promoted to a Recreation Coordinator, where she planned and coordinated youth and adult enrichment classes, handled facility rentals and planned and executed special events. For the past 3 years, she has been our rockstar Administrative Supervisor. No matter what hat she wore at the Rec she has always been so personable, knowledgeable, and dedicated.
Amanda recently accepted a new position closer to her home, where she will be able to flourish and continue growing in her career. We are sad to see her leave, but very happy for her as she moves forward. We wish her the best of luck and will miss her!
