Tiger Tales

May contain: person and human

Greetings EEC Family,

Spring brought the Tigers an abundance of adventure! After a long anticipated wait, we finally got to put our rain suits and boots and got to go play in the rain. Along with the never ending fun the rain brings, as early education teachers we welcome the rainy weather for a myriad of reasons. With the slippery conditions, the rain provides children opportunities to develop their gross motor skills faster. We explore scientific concepts such as the water cycle, clouds, and why it rains. It also provides a fantastic sensory experience, who doesn’t love making some good old fashioned mud pies?

Our science center was bustling with curious children investigating different bugs and insects. We used magnifying glasses to get a closer look and furthered our literacy and pre writing skills by reading books about insects and drawing different bugs.

At the art center we furthered our interest about spring by making flower sun catchers, creating bees out of egg cartons, and making flowers with cotton balls. These activities gave us an opportunity to work on our fine motor skills, cognitive and creative skills, and our social emotional skills.

We look forward to May and all the excitement it brings! We will be gearing up for Mother’s Day, parent-teacher conferences, and graduation. Graduation will be held on Friday, June 17, be on the lookout for a potluck signup.

Stay tuned to see what the Tigers next adventure will be.
