I began my love for working with children at a young age, in my home town of Bakersfield, CA. Starting at the age of 12, I began babysitting, assisting and teaching classes at my local dance studio, and teaching swim lessons to the youngest children. I officially began my career in Early Childhood Education when I got a job at the child development center on campus at CSU, Long Beach during my freshman year of college. I quickly fell in love with the important work we were doing and changed my major.

After graduating with a BA in Child Development and Family Studies, my career has taken me through many different experiences. I have worked in Long Beach, Sacramento, and all over San Mateo county. I have worked as a teacher in classrooms, on college campuses where I trained college students, in operations where I did enrollment and ran the daily functions of a preschool, and as a director (both on a single site and overseeing multiple sites). I have worked in the Early Education community on local, county, and state projects. I have also had training and worked with children with special needs and children who have been through severe trauma. I have been fortunate enough to work with amazing people on projects working with low income families and assisting the blending of communities.

After over 20 years in this profession, I have come full circle and am back in the classroom with infants and toddlers. It puts a smile on my face every day. The Monkeys make me laugh with their innocent sense of humor, clumsy fumbles, and contagious giggles. My favorite thing is to see the proud smile on their face when they accomplish something they have been working so hard to achieve. I am truly in my element here at the EEC!
