HRD Board of Director Elections 2024

The Highlands Recreation District Board consists of five members, each elected to a 4-year term. The term expirations of current Board Members are shown on the Board’s webpage. In election years, the HRD will formally notice an election by late June of that year. Candidates may then submit necessary paperwork, e.g., Form 700, Candidate’s Statement, etc., by early August to be listed on the election ballot. Exact deadlines will be posted on the HRD website in election years.

The Board may appoint an Interim Board Member in the event of a Board Vacancy. The terms of such appointment, and subsequent election, if any, are governed by CA Govt Code Section 1780.

 

The Candidate Filing period for the November 5, 2024 Presidential General Election will open on July 15 and close on August 9, 2024.

All forms must be filed by 5pm on August 9th to qualify to be listed on the elections ballot.

How to Register

Candidates can register to run by completing the Candidate Registration Form and emailing to CandidateServices@smcacre.org.

After, candidates can set up an appointment with Candidate Filling to go over the remainder of the filling forms in person or via Microsoft Teams. Click here to make an appointment. Under reason for visit, select in person, via Microsoft Teams, or over the phone.
