As the 2025 year came to a close, we want to thank our Highlands community for a great year of engagement and feedback. We had wonderful events for everyone to finish the year that our staff prepared. 

The 2026 year is filled with incredible growth, opportunities, and strategic priorities which have been supported by the Board of Directors and our FY 25-26 budget.

Here’s a quick update on

• Project Updates
  • Highlands Recreation District slide repair improvements project (north of bathrooms). The GM and BKF have completed the response to Civil Engineering and resubmitted structural calculations.
  • Renovation to Administrative Office to begin in January 2026
• Financial
  • O’Connor and Company - FY 24-25 Audit December 2025/January 2026 and Special District Financial Transaction Report in February 2, 2026.
• Community Engagement
  • GM ‘Listening Tours, and two Open Forum to engage and provide discussions with community are scheduled on Monday, January 12, 1:00pm-2:00pm and Wednesday, January 21, 12:00pm-1:00 pm. • Tennis
  • Our Recreation/Rental department has completed the new rental contract and fees which will begin January 2026.  Our team will be working with and supporting our community on the new process and procedures.
