Hello, I’m Linda Friedlin, your new Early Childhood Education Director! I am so excited to be here at the Highlands Rec District. After many years in the business world, I transitioned my career to Early Childhood Education! I went back to school 9 years ago to get all the classes, units and designations I needed and started from Teacher Assistant to Director to learn as much as I could. I am now very happy to be here at HRD continuing this journey. I live in San Mateo and enjoy being outdoors, swimming, volleyball and travel. My hobby is doing DIY activities around my home and garden.

Please introduce yourself if I haven’t met you already . I'm excited to announce some exciting changes happening at the EEC.

We are bringing on two new teachers who have a combined over 20 years experience in the ECE world. Su Wu and Sally Huang have worked with me in the past so I know they will be a welcome addition to the center.

We are also bringing on a new application, Brightwheel. It will allow our parents and family members to have access throughout the whole day to the various activities, timing of nap, meals, and curriculum information- among other things. It will make things very transparent for all, and teachers will be able to connect more easily with you each day.

A new school year is exciting, even with the changes it brings. Transitions are challenging for kiddos and grown-ups alike. Trust that the changes we are making will enhance the preschool learning experience for all our families, children, and teachers.

In August, we said goodbye to our wonderful EEC Director, Kristen Lein. Thank you for all you did for the families, students, and teachers! You will be so missed.
