HRD Foundation - we are accepting recommendations from individuals interested in being a connector and convener on the Foundation to increase opportunities at Highlands Recreation District. If you are interested or would like to recommend a community member, please send names to gmdirect@highlandsrec.ca.gov.
Project Updates
- Trenchless Sewer Replacement: The Board of Directors approved the resolution of the board of directors of the Highlands Recreation District adopting the informal bidding procedures under the uniform public construction cost accounting act to begin the selection of contractors for the Scope of Work to replace approximately Sewer Line Replacement adjacent to stairs at basketball court, through playground, parking lot
- North Landslide/Retaining Wall: Plan Review Consolidation; Erosion control approved. County requested additional boring be performed in design, Romig engineer to incorporate into their report and resubmit.

- Walkway Resurfacing: (Summer)
- Tennis Court Resurfacing: Stop by Registration Office and HRD website to provide feedback tennis/pickleball court design, colors, and layout. (May). Thank you community members for your emails and feedback.
- Pool: Annual Maintenance and deck cleaning (May); Pool/Lifeguard Office Refresh (April/May). Pool Renovation Preliminary Assessment and Community Engagement (Summer)
- Fitness Center: Watch for Fitness Center survey to learn what our community needs.
- LAFCo Draft MSR Report - Highlands Recreation District: reviewed by HRD Ad Hoc Committee for submission May 1, 2026. Further information is available at the public hearing on May 20, 2026, at 9:00 am. Virtual (Online) https://smcgov.zoom.us/j/96442908061 or in person at 500 County Center, Board of Supervisors Chambers Redwood City, CA 94063. The next draft of this report will include LAFCo recommendations and determinations. The District will have from May 20 through July 8 to provide comments and responses on the next draft MSR, before any actions are taken by LAFCo.
