Full Time Infant teaching position

The Highlands Recreation District’s Early Education Center has a PERMANENT FULL TIME Infant Teaching position available for the 9:15a – 6:15p shift. We are looking for an individual who not only loves working with infants and toddlers, but who also can multi-task and exhibit high energy, positive and compassionate qualities! If that describes you ….WE WANT YOU!

The Highlands Early Education Center is located within the Highlands Recreation District. Our year round, full day program is play based with an emphasis on social and self-help skills and serve children ages 3 months – 5 yrs. Our school is home to three classrooms each with small class sizes and ratios!

Applicants need a minimum of 15 ECE (early childhood education) units including 3 infant/toddler units.

The Highlands Recreation Center is looking for American Red Cross certified lifeguards and swim instructors to work a variety of hours and days at the Highlands Recreation Swimming Pool.  Applicants must be 15 years of age.  Summer and year round positions also available!  Come make Highlands Pool the safest place to swim!
Lifeguard I, Lifeguard II, Head Lifeguard: $13.00-$17.00 hour
Swim Instructor: $15.00-$30.00 Hour

During the school year, the After School Program is open from 12-6pm. Your shift can be flexible, but expect to work 3-5 hours per day. During the summer, when we offer full day summer camp from 7:30 to 6pm, shifts are 5-7 hours per day. Candidates must be at least 18 with 3 units in General Ed, Recreation or Early Childhood Education OR experience working in a childcare setting. Hourly pay rate: $11.50-15/hour, depending on experience.

Special Events
Do you need volunteer hours for school or just want to help in your community? We love extra helpers throughout the year for special events. Please contact the Recreation Supervisor for a current calendar of upcoming events and opportunities. Even a few hours are a great help in making our events a success for the whole community.
After School/Summer Help
Students age 13 and older are encouraged to contact the Rec to volunteer on a regular basis. Assistance at our pool office or snack shack, or administrative assistance in the Registration Office are greatly appreciated.
