Greetings Families,

Fall has always been a special time of year for me. Many of you know I am from Minnesota, and Fall is one of the states most beautiful seasons. The cool crisp mornings were always beautiful with the dew resting on the colorful leaves, and the chill in the air at night made for perfect bon fire weather. Some of my favorite childhood memories consist of driving around places like Stillwater, Minnesota or the North Shore of Duluth looking at all the beautiful fall color leaves. I remember having special weekend days with the whole family going apple picking or running around the pumpkin patch finding the best, most perfect pumpkin. Given that we are limited in the amount of activities we can do as the busy holiday season starts to approach, I wanted to share some of these family traditions that I had growing up, in hopes that it would inspire you to venture out and make great memories with the family.  Here are a few activities that I think would be a blast for all of you!

Gizdich Ranch in Watsonville, CA is a wonderful place to go apple picking! The smell of fresh apples in the air is worth the drive alone. You can pick apples right from the trees, bring a picnic, or enjoy a yummy treat at the pie shop. It’s definitely a great way to create memories with your little ones!

It’s that time of year when everything starts to turn orange and smell like pumpkins! Pumpkin patches are always a fun place for children to visit and find that perfect pumpkin. We are fortunate enough to have Half Moon Bay, the Pumpkin Capital of the World, just a hop, skip and a jump away! Lemos Farms is always a big draw, but there are so many other pumpkin patches along Highway 1. Arata farms has a corn maze that is sure to challenge your little ones and adults as well! It’s just a little further south, but still located in Half Moon Bay.

Like I said, these activities with my family growing up are some of my most cherished memories and I hope you take advantage of exploring these places. If you do, I’d love to hear about your adventures and see pictures!

Happy Fall ya’ll!
