Greetings EEC Families!
We hope your summer has gone swimmingly or you've taken time to just sit and watch the clouds. This month the EEC would like to highlight one of our awesome staff. Miss Colleen, has brought so many enriching qualities to the EEC which makes it difficult to point out just one! Please enjoy her bio and of course, feel free to send any additional questions you might have to email@example.com.
"For those of you that may not know me, my name is Colleen (or Ms. Colleen), and I have been a Tiger Teacher at the EEC for a little over two years now. This year, I am delighted to step into the role of the EEC Curriculum Coordinator. Within this new leadership role, I have been researching, observing, and reflecting on how the classrooms at the EEC can continue to dig deeper into the Reggio Emilia style of learning. I run a Google document which serves as a source of inspiration, where teachers can look at examples of play provocations. I also research and find new materials and toys for the children at the EEC to continue sparking their curiosity and wonder. I am in the process of compiling a portfolio of examples of our invitations to play, along with explanations as to why we are setting these materials up for the children and what they are learning through play, so stay tuned to check that out!
With that, I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes:
“A child’s play is not simply a reproduction of what they have experienced, but a creative reworking of the impressions they have acquired”-Lev Vygotsky "
