Early Education Center (EEC)

As we approach the busy holiday season, the staff here at the EEC wanted to take the time to pause and give thanks to our community. We are so grateful for the support from our families, past and present, and from our fellow coworkers here at the Rec. We are honored that this community trusts us every day with their precious tiny humans!

In the month of November, the classrooms focused on giving thanks. We had several circle time gatherings where we talked about what we are thankful for and what we like most about spending time with our families during the holidays. Check out the pictures above for some creative answers! We also took time to focus on friendship and what it means to be a good friend. The Chameleons class made a beautiful friendship quilt together that is proudly displayed just inside their door. These activities are a great way to help a child recognize what makes them and their friends happy and helps their social emotional development. We often talk about friendship and what we can do to be kind and helpful, but November always feels like the appropriate month to spotlight it, as we often reflect on what we are most thankful for when we are with families and friends. We hope that you will all take the time to have a discussion like this with your family and let your children be free with their answers.

We look forward to more festive celebrations in the coming months and for all the art and cooking projects the classrooms will be doing. Check out the EEC newsletters for updates and ideas for family holiday projects!
