Winter Registration for Swim Lessons is near!

On November 15th for Residents and November 22nd for Non-Residents, all winter swim lessons will be available for registration. This winter we are taking a different approach. First, all lessons will be group lessons. This will allow us to serve more of the community than we have in the past year. All group lessons will have a maximum of 4 students per class to be able to maintain some distance and still give the maximum opportunity for students to sign up for classes. Second, all class sessions will be based on attending one day per week. This means you will have 4 options for classes! Classes will be offered on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Finally, we are offering classes we know will not be cancelled or suspended based on staffing. This means that offerings will be somewhat limited at first. If more instructors are available on a particular day, then we will open up more sections. We look forward to seeing as many of your children as possible in the pool!

Thank you to all Fall Swim Lesson Families!

A huge thank you to all parents who signed up for lessons this past fall! We know that some of the scheduling has been difficult and we thank you for your understanding and patience. We cannot have an aquatics program without your support. The Aquatics Staff and I are happy to be a part of the Highlands Community!

Staff Closures

During the past month, we have had a few closures due to staff availability. It is not something we take lightly. Safety is the most important part of operating a pool, and it’s not safe to have swimmers in the pool with only one staff member present. While I hope the pool will not have any more closures, our staff situation is less than ideal. Please be patient with us if there is a closure as it is for your safety. If you have any specific questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me via e-mail at danr@highlandsrec.ca.gov
